Roads are mostly constructed & maintained with mineral aggregates and suitable binders (Tar or Bitumen). These surface, classified as bituminous pavements, have show to be highly prone to premature failures. One of the major causes of their failure is loss of bond between aggregate and binder called stripping. This improper adhesion between the aggregate and the binder may be due to poor quality of aggregate, damaging effect of water, quality of bitumen, workmanship etc...

One of the most effective and feasible solution to counter the above-mentioned problems, is the use of SUPER-BOND XS, an amine based antistripping agent. Anti- stripping agents are used the world over to overcome the stripping problems of bituminous pavements. Anti-stripping agents improve the bond between the aggregate and binder, as in its presence, the nature of aggregate changes, making it more liophilic(oil loving). This makes the water loving(Hydrophilic) aggregate more attractive to bonding with bitumen. This results in a complete and strong bond between the binder and bitumen, which leads to more durable and longer lasting roads.
